I was watching a video on facebook that showed a cygnet (i.e. a baby swan) that was caught in a fence. As someone tried to help the poor little thing, papa swan was going into attack mode! Luckily, the rescuer managed to free the cygnet without getting his eyes pecked out. The funny thing is that the video actually reminded me of something from my childhood. Yep, a swan at the zoo tried to bite my rear as I walked with my mom over a little bridge, which happened to be right next to the swan’s nest! There is no question that swans can be rather vicious when protecting their offspring. Nevertheless, they are also very beautiful birds.
